Located in a central yet calm area of Berlin, Hotel Courtyard Berlin City is a solid choice for travelers seeking accessibility, comfort, and city convenience. Its position near Checkpoint Charlie and easy connections to buses, the metro, and walking routes to Museum Island make it an ideal base for a city exploration trip.

First Impressions
The hotel has a ground-floor lobby with a welcoming atmosphere and a traditional check-in desk staffed by friendly personnel. The breakfast area, restaurant, and bar are all located on the ground floor, making them easily accessible.
Parking is available in the underground garage (-1) for €28 per day, though spaces are narrow, so larger vehicles may need to maneuver carefully. If you bring your EU Disability Parking Card you may also pay outside the hotel as there are two accessible parking spots in front of the hotel. Elevators provide easy access to all floors, including the accessible guest rooms.
The Accessible Room
The accessible room I stayed in offered a clean, spacious, and functional layout:
Flooring: No carpet - smooth and easy to roll with a wheelchair
Bed: Queen-sized, good height for transfers
Desk, chair, and closet: All accessible and well-placed
Bathroom: Equipped with a toilet seat with grab rails and a shower chair (one grab rail on the side)
The room faced the building’s interior, so the view wasn’t particularly scenic, but the practical space and layout made it comfortable and easy to navigate.
Dining Options
The hotel offers optional breakfast, which is convenient for guests who prefer to start the day onsite. However, the surrounding area provides plenty of alternative choices, including bakeries, restaurants, and supermarkets.
A personal tip: Prince, a modern Cantonese restaurant just a five-minute walk across the street, serves excellent lunch and dinner, highly recommended if you enjoy authentic Cantonese cuisine in Berlin.
Location & Exploring the City
Courtyard Berlin City is perfectly situated for urban sightseeing. From here, you can easily:
Walk to Checkpoint Charlie
Access buses and metro lines to reach other parts of Berlin
Take a pleasant stroll to Museum Island and nearby cultural attractions
Its central location and easy navigation make it especially convenient for travelers relying on a wheelchair or other mobility aids.
Final Thoughts
Hotel Courtyard Berlin City is a well-maintained, accessible hotel ideal for city trips. The spacious rooms, smooth flooring, and thoughtful bathroom layout provide comfort, while the location allows easy exploration of Berlin’s historic and cultural landmarks. For travelers seeking practical accessibility combined with urban convenience, this hotel is a reliable choice.
